Witfield Dam Boksburg where my kids have played and fished since they where 4 years old "Its a crying shame". - by Sue Babich

Witfield Dam is situated in Boksburg possibly one of the best known SA dams internationally The dams is renown for its large quality carp - here is a reminder of some of the specimen fish to come out of Witfield over the last couple of years, then see the pictures taken by Louis Hayward last week end 18/19th November 2006

The pictures tell the story of the incompetence and the don't give a damn
attitude of the Ekurhuleni Town Council.

This dam is in the middle of the residential suburb of Witfield which falls
under Boksburg.

Locals are picking up the dead contaminated fish and eating them. Who knows
what what the health consequences are.

Water samples have been taken and are being tested by an INDEPENDENT
laboratory.

It may be sewerage or even from the airport spill. Time will tell.

Criminal charges will be laid.

I am getting sick and tired of municipalities @&%#$ up the environment and I am getting to the stage where certain clauses contained in the South African Constitution concerning a clean and healthy country will be in the form of
criminal charges being laid against The President of the time.

COSATO slogan of "You hurt one of us you hurt us all" is just an idle boast because they have done nothing about the numerous members of their affiliated unions becoming sick and even dying as a result of the growing pollution of all our scarce water resources.

What do the trade unions do with all the money they collect from their members except teach them to do some ludicrous dance that went out of fashion with Mrs Pless?
