Subject: Some news from the STAC Committee Meeting
Good morning all
Just thought it may be of interest to some of you, to be aware of the following:
We are in the process of re-doing the braai area at the Gubu Clubhouse, with a slightly new design (we currently await quotations)
The Stutterheim Trout Angling Club Flyfishing competition is to be held on the 19th May 2007, at Gubu Dam. Please mark this off on your calendar
The new bag limit at Gubu, for both members and day-ticket holders is 4 fish. This is due to the rising cost of fish, amongst other things
The locks at the clubhouse will be changed on or shortly before the 31st of July 2007, so key-holding members that renew timeously will be issued with new keys
The lounge suite within the clubhouse is looking worse-for-wear, and we wondered if there aren’t any members or potential members who may wish to donate any furniture that may substitute the dilapidated pieces of furniture
Other than that; the fishing over December was relatively slow, but there were a few fish caught and more than 1 in excess of 4 pounds. The fishing will most likely pick up in March and will steadily improve over the next couple of months, hopefully due to the 50 000 fish that have been stocked as well as dropping temperatures as Winter approaches.
If anyone knows who to contact for Jetties (especially ones that are made of wood that is not treated with toxins), please forward me the details, as we are still hoping to put up a jetty near the boathouse at Gubu.
Have a good Valentine’s day.
Kind Regards,
Jason Scheckle
