Good day to all of you
 
Many, if not all of you, will be pleased to know that this past weekend was phase 1 of the 2006 stocking of Gubu Dam.  
 
The following fish were stocked:
 
·        35000 selected all female fry (Warm Water Tolerant)

·        2000 large fry Triploid


Thanks go to Rodney Webb and Barry Olander for their efforts in ensuring that the fish were delivered to the dam safely. Thanks also go to Martin Davies for donating some of the fish that were stocked, as well as his continued support and good guidance for the Stutterheim Trout Angling Club.

Phase 2 will take place in November, and will consist of mainly fry (approx. another 13000).
 
So, we have gained leaps and bounds in terms of potential future catch ratio, and hope to see those that aren’t members, joining, and those that are, encouraging others to join our club.
 
This stocking exercise is an investment in the following 3-5 years of our fishing at Gubu Dam, and we thank those that have supported us in the past, those that continue to support us in the present, and those that will step up and support us in the future.
