Horned Adders have
extremely variable colouration depending on the geographical area.
Inhabit dry sandy regions where they sidewind on soft sand, burying
themselves in loose sand using a wriggling or shuffling motion.
Most characteristic feature is presence of an erect scale above
each eye. There is a U-shaped or hourglass marking on top of the
head.

on either side of head above each eye.

Common Night Adders
are found in varying shades of light grey, olive or light to pinkish
brown with a series of large rhombic markings sometimes encircled
with white on the back & tail.
