STEALTH has come out with a new range of four piece travel rods. These rods fill a niche for a practical rod that requires very little space and doesn’t weigh much. Just what is needed for limited space travelling and jet setting around the world? The 5/6 weight rod in a tube weighs 420g and measured 74.5cm in length. This makes the rod small enough for hand luggage ”see no more excuses why not to take the rod along on any flight”.

This rod conforms with the usual quality standards that we have come to expect from a STEALTH rod, it is 100% graphite, has a graphite reel seat, has very little fish scaring flash and just to finish the rod off it has a cork handle. The price of these rods will be approximately the same as the normal two-piece STEALTH rods, which makes this one of the most competitively priced and good value for money rods on the market.

Having four pieces makes this rod a little heavier and stiffer than a two-piece rod, but also gives it plenty of backbone. In testing this rod I found the rod can easily be over powered when casting, and that the 5/6 weight was capable of handling a 7wt floating line. So if purchasing a four-piece rod I would you test it with different line weight so as to accommodate your own casting style.

All in all I would give this rod a big thumbs up and regard it as an asset to anybody’s tackle collection.
