MISTER TWISTER'S EXUDE: UNFAIR TO FISH?

The bass market is a fickle one, lures that are "hot" this year being superceded by some new fad next summer, But from time to time a genuine advance in bassing technology comes along.

Mister Twister's new range of Exude plastic lures is such a advance. Mister Twister baits have been a firm favourite in South Africa over many years, the famous Mister twister Curlytail worms and grubs. Sassy shads and Hawg Frawgs having been steady sellers.

Those old farourites are still around, but the Exude range of soft plastic baits - available in 10 cm French Fry, 10 cm Tubebait and 16/20 cm ribbon Tail worms or lizards, in many colours are adding a new dimension to the way plastic lures are regarded and fished in this country.

Impregnating plastic baits with various fish-attracting scents has been done for many years, but when a fish bites such a lure it gets no taste of the flavour locked within. Until now no manufacturer has come up with a way for these flavours or scents to actually be released, or exuded, into the water while the lure is being fished leaving a scent trail that bass and other gamefish can't resist.

The new Exude range of soft plastic baits do exactly that. When the lure comes in contact with water a chemical reaction takes place which, firstly, creates a slimy, "natural" coating on the plastic and, secondly, releases fish-attracting scents that can make all the difference between turning a disinterested fish into an eager striker. Or brings a fish missed the first time back for a second strike. Soft, slimy and tasty, once a fish hits these baits it wont let go.

These revolutionary new plastics have been extensively tested in the United states before release. Here in South Africa top anglers also tested samples of the new Exude baits during the past summer, and the results were overwhelmingly enthusiastic.
